FIRE PROTECTION
Southwest Sawyers exists for one reason: to help homeowners across Arizona's wildland-urban interface prepare before the fire comes. This is fire protection, start to finish — who we are, what we do, and how we protect your property.
WHO WE ARE
Southwest Sawyers is a husband-and-wife team — Stratton and Devyn Palmer. Stratton is a former wildland firefighter who saw firsthand what happens when a property isn't ready for fire, and that experience is why Southwest Sawyers exists. We're licensed, bonded, and insured, and our crews train to wildland fire standards, not just landscaping standards. Fire protection isn't a side offering for us — it's the whole business.

WHAT WE DO
Fire protection isn't one service — it's a process. Here's how the pieces fit together, with a page for each if you want the full detail.
A free, on-site evaluation of your property's fuel load, defensible space, and structure vulnerabilities — the starting point for every fire protection plan.
Learn MoreClearing dead and dry vegetation, correcting ladder fuels, and building defensible space — targeted to one zone, or property-wide as a full Property Reset.
Learn MoreDocumented proof that a property has completed a full Property Reset — real leverage with insurers and buyers, not just a nicer-looking lot.
Learn MoreYear-round maintenance that keeps regrowth from undoing the work — and keeps a Wildfire Defense Certificate in good standing.
Learn MoreLarge-scale vegetation management and defensible space planning that keeps entire neighborhoods fire-ready, not just individual lots.
Learn MorePipeline and utility corridor clearing built to the access, safety, and compliance standards infrastructure projects demand.
Learn MoreHOW IT WORKS
Every plan starts the same way: a free Wildfire Risk Assessment. From there, we scope the exact fire protection work your property needs.
WHY IT MATTERS
Arizona's wildland-urban interface puts thousands of homes within reach of wildfire every year, and most homes that burn are lost to windblown embers finding fuel close to the structure — not a wall of flame. Fire protection is how you take that risk out of the equation before it's tested. Read more about wildfire risk in Arizona on our blog.
FAQ
Fire protection is the combined work of assessing a property's wildfire risk and then reducing it — removing dead and dry vegetation, correcting ladder fuels, and building defensible space so a home has a real line of defense if wildfire reaches it.
Through a four-part process: a free Wildfire Risk Assessment, Fire Mitigation to clear vegetation and build defensible space, a Wildfire Defense Certificate for properties that complete a full Property Reset, and an ongoing Wildfire Defense Program.
